About Mike

Mike Williams has been involved in the art of construction for over forty years. Over the decades he has developed his expertise in four areas: construction, woodworking, architectural design and sustainability practices.

Mike is a licensed contractor and has worn many hats in his career. He received a Certificate in Architectural Drafting from the Minneapolis Drafting School, and has worked as a draftsman, lead carpenter, cabinetmaker, project manager, director of a non-profit building materials salvage yard, and CTE certified high school building trades instructor. He was a partner in building several straw bale homes, and was instrumental in developing and implementing an inovative panelized straw bale construction system for the first use in the United States. Mike has spent many years in the design and construction of his own projects. He has developed the trade of construction into an art form, his art. He loves to use recycled materials and found pieces in his creations. Each project from small to large receives the detailed touch of a master craftsman.

In his free time you will find him hiking with his wife in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, practicing and teaching martial arts, or visiting his kids!
